Specifically, we are seeking team-oriented and independent candidates with demonstrated expertise in fracture mechanics, mechanical testing, and environmentally assisted cracking research

The responsibilities of the selected Senior Research Fellow include:

  • Project leadership in environmentally assisted cracking research.
  • Conceive and conduct fracture mechanics-based hydrogen embrittlement and stress corrosion cracking research.
  • Project leadership in advanced materials characterization research using Curtin's state of the art facilities.
  • Closely interact with industry partners on solving materials and corrosion challenges.
  • Supervise HDR students
  • Actively seek competitive government research funding opportunities.
  • Actively publish research outcomes.
  • Support the Curtin Corrosion Centre's engagement and outreach activities.

The duties of the selected Senior Research Office include:

  • Responsible for the Environmentally Assisted Cracking and Materials testing facilities within the Curtin Corrosion Centre.
  • Conduct conventional and customized mechanical testing (tensile, impact, hardness, bending, etc).
  • Conduct fracture mechanics-based testing in inert and corrosive environments (e.g., hydrogen embrittlement and stress corrosion cracking research.)
  • Closely interact with industry partners on solving materials and corrosion challenges.
  • Actively publish research outcomes and prepare Engineering Reports.
